Many of us have seen Disney character recreations, but one Australian artist named Shannon Lee decided to try something different by turning them into humans. And she didn’t stop there; the artist also created humanised animal renderings that are truly stunning.
Shannon told Bored Panda that she has been drawing for as long as she can remember in a recent interview. “Apparently, I witnessed my mum painting when I was a year old and wanted to join in,” the artist explained. “Because my parents didn’t have any kid-safe paints, they handed me shaving foam and told me to colour in the flowers blossoming outside!” Haha! They’re a horde of lunatics.”

Shannon claims that character design is her very favourite thing to do. “Thinking about who you want a character to be and then translating that into shapes, colours, and aesthetic choices, etc. ; problem-solving so that another viewer can get a solid sense of who that character is,” the artist continues.

Despite the fact that she currently creates a lot of humanised versions of figures, the artist said that she used to loathe drawing people. “I didn’t practise them because they weren’t enjoyable for me,” Shannon remarked, “and as a result, I ended up with repetitive “same face syndrome” drawings.” After seeing others do it, the artist began creating her own recreated versions of characters she admired.
