Have you ever wondered what superheroes get up to when they’re not saving the world? What are their everyday habits and how do they live their lives? Most importantly, what are their everyday challenges as average people?
Well, one Brazilian artist, Lucas Nascimento, best known on Instagram as dragonarte, thought of it and even made comics about it. He portrays the everyday lives of our favourite superheroes and the amusing challenges they face as ordinary citizens in his quirky comics.
In 2013, the artist published his first comic strip, which marked the start of his creative career. “I drew comics—long stories with text,” the artist said when asked how he came up with the concept for these comics. However, they didn’t have a large audience (they weren’t especially well-known). That’s why I decided to create comic strips—short stories without dialogue featuring well-known characters—so that people all over the world will enjoy them.
His comic strips, according to the writer, contain stories about his favourite superheroes, including Spiderman, Batman, and the Hulk. “I enjoy bringing characters from different worlds together. For instance, DC and Marvel superheroes.” One of his favourite superhero stories takes him 3-4 hours or more to complete.
His comics brilliantly depict the hilarious trials of superheroes trying to live normal lives. For example, when Spiderman removes his mask and transforms into Peter Parker, a normal high school student from Queens, he requires costume repairs, and this time, his aunt comes to his aid. When Batman is having nightmares as a result of his never-ending battles with city criminals, his loyal butler comes to tell him bedtime stories. And superheroes need to exercise to stay in shape, so Batman goes to the gym with his pal Robin on a regular basis. So check these funny comics by Lucas Nascimento and see the daily lives of superheroes. Some of their struggles will definitely be relatable even for you!
