Jenny Jenya, the artist who makes people cry with her comic book Loving Reaper, started the series with a story about a dog being left behind. Over time, more and more animals were included in her work, such as rabbits, parrots and elephants. Now, Jenny is back with an article about another good boy in a bad family.
Three days ago, she uploaded a tape that takes us back to winter. An optimistic dog, Zeus spends his days freezing attached to raising dogs. However, it does not break his spirit. Zeus still loves his family. But the weather is more than he can handle.
What makes Jenny Ginya’s cartoons so unique is that they research extensively on the topics they cover. This was no exception. Unfortunately, winter actually produces reports of people leaving their dogs outside to die in the cold.
“I’ve wanted to address this topic for a long time,” Jenny Jenya told Bored Panda. “It bothers me that there are still people who think their dog can handle everything, as if they keep a wild wolf in their garden. But our dogs have been tamed, they have adapted to our conditions. Most dog breeds do not tolerate cold (with the exception of northern breeds). Finally, they have I developed an idea for a story that I could make up about the problem.”
Comparing her most recent tape to the one that started it all, Jenny agrees that they are alike in some way. “Last year I had a feeling that I had moved away from my ‘comics roots.’ It’s not necessarily bad, but sometimes I got the impression that I forgot why I started Loving Reaper at all,” she explained. “I lost some of my motivation and inspiration. I tried to get it back with this comedian.”
The creator also shared great news with us: Most of her stories will soon be published in a hardcover book. It will even contain some never-before-seen comics and a few other surprises. Pre-orders start in August, so keep your eyes open. Jenny Jenya will soon announce more details on her website and social media accounts.
