When our pets expire, they leave a void that almost nothing can fill. And it is often time to immediately think about getting another pet: the pain is still very strong after losing a lifelong friend. However, what do you do if someone gets you a new pet? Do you lash out and blame the animal or do you hug it, accepting it as the potential friend it is, giving it what it deserves?
These are the questions that German artist Jenny Hefczyc addresses in her new comic. In it, the spirit of a dog that is giving up returns to visit her owner, as well as the adorable new puppy that his brother has given her. The Grim Reaper, an iconic character in Jenny’s comic, also appears. The comic may be a sequel to ‘Little Fish’, about the stuffed toy the dog took on his last trip to the vet with his owner.
Take a look below, dear pandas, but be warned: there are some ninjas chopping onions and possibly shedding a tear or two. Jenny revealed to Bored Panda that she wanted to continue owning Zack’s story as soon as she finished the first part of the story. “I like Zack because he is authentic. he is still young and sometimes too temperamental. But he tries hard to be an honest guy. I’m sure Atlas is still worried about adapting the new puppy, so there’s room for more sequels,” the artist told us about the long run of the story.
