It’s difficult to say goodbye to a pet, especially if they died while they were young. Dangodango, a sad Tumblr user, recently had to go through this after her two puppies died of a deadly sickness. The user drew a moving comic depicting their experiences, which may cause you to cry.

The user, their brother, and his girlfriend adopted two gorgeous stray dogs and fell in love with them right away.Unfortunately, due to a lack of expertise and funds, the man who rescued the stray dogs failed to take them to the veterinarian for vaccination, resulting in the entire pack of 9 adult dogs and 6 puppies being infected with the Canine Distemper Virus (CDV), which is lethal.Adult dogs have a 60% probability of surviving, but young puppies have only a 10% chance. The puppies were diseased and the rescue had no idea. We eventually discovered the ailment and took them to the vet facility. Dangodango writes that it was too late.

According to the artist, their home nation of Vietnam lacks adequate animal shelters and disease management measures, resulting in a large number of sick stray dogs roaming the streets. We sincerely hope to find a better solution for them, but for the time being, Dangodango writes, “Animal rescue is spontaneous and chaotic.” This is my puppy’s prayer in comic form.
