A dying woman’s final wish. The caretaker then surprises everyone by pulling something out of his pocket.

Everyone ultimately aged and dies.

Since I consider death to be a natural and beautiful occurrence, I don’t find it to be all that frightening. However, I also fear aging and losing the capacity to care for myself.

to be completely dependant on someone else, unable to go to the bathroom on your own, and unable to remember your children’s names. That’s not a lifestyle.

Maria was spending her final days in a care facility. She also became aware that she was nearing the end of her life.

Maria, who had spent her entire life teaching piano and singing, missed being surrounded by music.

Luckily for her, one of her old students worked at her assisted living home in Austinburg, Ohio.

They knew each other well because she had been Joshua Woodard’s teacher since he was nine years old.

Maria’s biggest wish before she died was to hear the song “How great thou art.”

Naturally, Joshua was thrilled to fulfill Maria’s final request.

Using the words from his phone, he gave a heartfelt performance of Maria’s favorite song of all time.

It turns out that Joshua has known Mary since he was nine years old, which makes it even cuter.

Mary taught voice and piano in her day and this aide Joshua Woodard was one of her students as a kid. Special people hospice workers are!

Maria’s sister-in-law managed to capture the emotional moment on film:

Unfortunately, Maria is no longer with us, which adds to the poignancy of this entire clip.

In order to honor all of the staff members who put in countless hours to care for our senior loved ones, make sure you share this lovely video with all of your Facebook friends.
